How to support us
There is no doubt that more than any time in recent history the performing arts needs support. In light of the recent severe cuts to arts funding by the government it has never been more important for small independent companies to have financial support from the private and corporate sector.
As a company we try to ensure that we generate simple and affordable ways for philanthropic individuals to financially support us. Even the smallest of gifts of support go a long way to helping the company grow and continue its work. We offer a number of fun and simple ways that you can help.
The corporate sector is quickly becoming an important source of support. Many of the large companies in the UK already support the arts in one capacity or the other, Coutts & Co Bank, Deloitte, UBS to name but a few. We have several ways that corporate companies can sponsor or support new work and touring productions as well as smaller events and shows.
Other ways to support
We hold regular fundraising events and always need auction prizes and corporate gifts. If you can donate a prize we will feature you and your company logo in the programme as one of our supporters and give you verbal acknowledgement at the event.
Time and energy
We are always looking for individuals who wish to support us with their time and energy. If you are passionate about dance and would like to help us one day a week, one week a month or one month year then we would love to hear from you. We are also always looking for contacts and the opportunity to network with companies and individuals.
Clear the attic
If you have an attic full of old tutus and pointe shoes then we would love to pass them on to amateur dance groups, AmDrams and good homes. Dancewear is often expensive to buy new and the cost can be off putting to some. Don’t throw it out, give it to us.
We also are always on the lookout for dance books, magazines, old dance photos, paintings, old film, slides and dance memorabilia. A single photo or film clip could help a company revive a lost work or inspire a new one. We guarantee that they will find the right home be it school, archive or gallery. We will let you know where it goes!
Leave a legacy
Neither the company or The Dicky Buckle Fund are registered as a charity and at present fund receives no government funding. As a company we continue to work constantly to remain an organization who can commission and produce new work and programmes that benefit all areas of dance theatre.
With a gift in your will, you could play a part in helping us continue our efforts to produce new work and the supporting workshops for this generation of creatives and the next. Any gift in your will always be hugely appreciated and will without fail help the company continue its efforts of artistic endeavour.
How your gift could help
As little as (example)
£5 can go towards print costs/stationary
£100 can help pay for a day’s hire of a studio or images right use
£500 can pay for annotation of a new work.
£1000 could pay for initial design sketches or model or costume production.
£5,000 is enough to commission and produce a short work by a young choreographer for gala events or a showcase evening. (commissioned or sponsored works be named or dedicated to the memory of a loved one or an anniversary.)
£10,000 could finance a more substantial work or form part of a finance module for a larger production.
£15,000 would cover the cost of an intern working in conjunction with a production designer, choreographer, set builder or director.
